Aeroflot’s set of dishes for in-flight catering, designed by designers Mikhail Chistyakov and Yulia Chistyakova, received the prestigious Red Dot Award, which is awarded annually by the Design Center in Essen, Germany.

In the framework of the international competition Red Dot Design Award 2021, the design project of the onboard tableware “Skopkar” was awarded the highest award in the category “Tableware”. The jury, which included eminent designers from different countries, appreciated the sense of style displayed by the leading Russian airline. The quality of in-flight catering and its delivery is one of the strongest features of Aeroflot’s service.

The prize was awarded to the entire collection, including porcelain, cutlery, glass, paper and textile serving items. The transition to the new design crockery was carried out in stages and was completed by the end of 2019. Now sets of this on-board utensils are present on all flights of the airline.
The jury noted the perfect balance of a solution that meets a variety of requirements important to civil aviation. First of all, it is the continuity of style, compactness, combinability and practicality.

The experts paid special attention to the fact that the concept of Aeroflot tableware is a modern interpretation of Russian table setting using traditional forms. The collection is based on the image of a Russian wooden bucket – a skopkar, and a colored wooden spoon has turned into an elegant metal one, but at the same time with a characteristic tip.
