In partnership with Watermark, Air Astana has launched a new collection of economy class travel kits, designed with Kazakh artists to combine comfort, cultural heritage, and sustainability.
The collection features works by renowned artists Indira Badam, Aigerim Karibaeva, Anar Abzhanova, Saule Suleimenova, and Marat Bekey. Fourteen unique designs reflect Kazakhstan’s rich cultural traditions, natural landscapes, folklore, and the artists’ personal childhood memories. Each kit transforms a travel essential into a small work of art, allowing passengers to experience Kazakhstan’s culture even while travelling abroad.
Air Astana Unveils Artist-Designed Kits Celebrating Kazakh CultureThe travel kits are available in two formats: horizontal designs for passengers departing from Kazakhstan, and vertical designs for those arriving in the country. Round-trip travellers can collect multiple designs, enjoying the diversity of artistic expression on their journeys.
Sustainability has been central to the design. The kit fabric is made from recycled RPET material, while the contents include eco-conscious items such as a bamboo toothbrush, a kraft-paper pen, an eye mask, and socks made from recycled fibres. On outbound flights from Kazakhstan, an inflatable neck pillow is also provided.
