Flying with children has always been an adventure in itself, but Air India is determined to make it a far more enjoyable one. With the launch of Cloud Chasers, the airline has introduced a new programme dedicated entirely to young travellers, blending entertainment, imagination and thoughtful services to create a journey that is just as memorable as the destination.

The initiative comes at a time when family travel is experiencing remarkable growth worldwide, with more parents choosing to introduce their children to new destinations from an early age. Recognising this shift, Air India has brought together its child-focused products and services under one vibrant identity that celebrates curiosity, creativity and the excitement of discovery.

At the heart of the programme is a charming reinvention of the airline’s iconic Maharaja. Instead of appearing solely as the familiar symbol of Air India, the beloved mascot now takes on the role of a playful young explorer, accompanying children throughout their journey. Whether featured on activity kits, keepsakes or onboard experiences, the new Maharaja is designed to spark the imagination while making young passengers feel they are part of an adventure unfolding above the clouds.

For children aged three to nine travelling on Air India’s marquee long-haul and ultra-long-haul flights of more than eight hours, the journey begins with specially designed Cloud Chasers activity kits. Filled with puzzles, games, colouring activities and interactive discovery prompts, the kits are thoughtfully created to keep young minds occupied while encouraging creativity throughout the flight.

The airline has also refreshed one of its most cherished traditions for first-time flyers. Air India’s popular First Flight Certificate now carries a whimsical Cloud Chasers design and can be personalised with the signatures of the captain and cabin crew. It offers families a meaningful keepsake that captures the excitement of a child’s very first experience in the skies.

Entertainment has also received a significant upgrade. The Kids Zone on Air India’s Vista inflight entertainment system now offers more than 130 hours of carefully curated programming, while Vista Stream enables children to access an additional library of child-friendly content on their own devices. The collection includes animated favourites and educational programming from global partners, including Moonbug and Red Bull TV, catering to children between the ages of three and thirteen.

Interactive features help keep young travellers engaged throughout the journey. Children can follow their flight through colourful Kids Maps, while classic games such as UNO, Angry Birds, Chess and Ludo Race provide hours of fun. For parents looking to reduce screen time, Air India has also collaborated with Vobble to offer informative audio stories that entertain while encouraging learning.

Commenting on the launch, Rajesh Dogra, Chief Customer Experience Officer at Air India, said the programme had been designed around the needs of young travellers while giving families more reasons to choose the airline. He also described Cloud Chasers as the beginning of a longer journey, with additional family-focused enhancements expected in the future.

For airlines today, winning over families is about much more than getting passengers from one destination to another. It is about creating experiences that children remember long after the holiday has ended. With Cloud Chasers, Air India is embracing that philosophy, transforming routine flights into adventures filled with creativity, discovery and moments that families can cherish together. For young travellers, the holiday now begins the moment they step on board.
