The first female flight attendant was Ellen Church. By profession, she was a registered nurse. During that time, there was a need for someone with nursing background to be onboard.
That’s because people often came up with medical emergencies when they were flying. This provided Ellen with the opportunity to become the very first flight attendant in the world. This offer was provided to her by United Airlines.
