In the rarefied world of premium air travel, it is often the smallest details that define the experience. With this philosophy in mind, LOT Polish Airlines has introduced a refined new element to its onboard service: handcrafted ceramic tableware created by the renowned Manufaktura in Bolesławiec.
The collaboration brings one of Poland’s most iconic artistic traditions into the skies. On flights between Warsaw and Tokyo-Narita, passengers traveling in Business Class will now enjoy their meals served on bespoke ceramic sets designed exclusively for the airline. Select pieces from the collection are also featured in Premium Economy, adding a touch of craftsmanship to the inflight dining experience.
For LOT, the partnership represents far more than a change in tableware. It is a carefully considered expression of identity.

Polish Design at 30,000 Feet
As Poland’s flagship carrier, LOT has long embraced its role as a global ambassador for the country’s culture and creativity. By integrating celebrated Polish brands into the passenger experience, the airline offers travelers a tactile connection to the nation’s heritage—one that unfolds quietly but meaningfully throughout the journey.
“Travel experiences are shaped by the smallest details,” explains Izabela Leszczyńska, Director of Product Development and Customer Experience at LOT Polish Airlines. “Bolesławiec pottery has been present in Polish homes for generations. Today, it begins a truly intercontinental journey, allowing passengers to encounter Polish design in a natural and authentic way.”

A Heritage of Craftsmanship
Pottery from Bolesławiec has long held a special place in European decorative arts. Known for its deep cobalt patterns, hand-stamped motifs, and exceptional durability, the ceramics blend artistry with everyday functionality. Each piece reflects centuries of craftsmanship rooted in the Lower Silesian town of Bolesławiec, where traditional techniques remain central to production.
The pieces created for LOT capture this heritage while adapting it for a contemporary setting – elegant enough for premium dining, yet faithful to the distinctive visual language that has made Bolesławiec pottery instantly recognisable worldwide.

Tradition Meets the Journey East
The ceramics debut on LOT’s Warsaw–Narita route, where they accompany a culinary program inspired by Japanese cuisine. The contrast proves unexpectedly harmonious: the refined minimalism of oriental dishes set against the rich, decorative character of Polish pottery.
Together, the presentation creates a dining experience that goes beyond taste alone. It becomes a subtle cultural dialogue – an intersection of Polish craftsmanship and Japanese gastronomy unfolding thousands of meters above the earth.

A Story That Travels
For Manufaktura in Bolesławiec, the collaboration marks a new chapter in sharing its legacy with the world.
“We are honored to tell our story aboard LOT aircraft,” says Paweł Zwierz, co-owner of the manufactory. “Our ceramics created by people, shaped by tradition will now travel to destinations across the globe, accompanying passengers on their journeys.”
In the evolving landscape of luxury travel, authenticity has become the ultimate luxury. By pairing artisanal heritage with modern aviation, LOT Polish Airlines demonstrates that even at cruising altitude, tradition can still feel beautifully grounded.
