As we come to the end of 2016, we have once again compiled our annual Top 20 most desirable and sought after collectable amenity kits listed on eBay*. It may come as somewhat of a surprise that the collectable market for amenity kits is flourishing with many willing to pay as much as $200 to own the latest chic kit.
First class amenity kits appear to be the most desirable to collectors, however this year’s Top 20 sees a number of vintage kits featured. Like 2015, the Rimowa hard case is still a firm favourite from Thai Airlines, designed in a metallic brown and topping the chart at $210. Other Rimowa designed kits, from both Lufthansa and Eva Air, follow closely behind commanding $100 plus prices.
New entries this year came from Qantas, British Airways, Lufthansa and Iran Air, as well as a couple of vintage amenity kits from Pan Am and Aer Lingus. The All Nippon Airways Samsonite hard-case, which we tipped as one to watch, slips from 8th to 20th with other hard case designs becoming more popular. Also remaining in the Top 20 is Etihad’s Cufflink box and Air France’s stylish Givenchy kit.
