Icelandair is launching the second generation of its Business Class amenity kits for fall/winter. Skysupply, a leading inflight equipment company, designed and developed two concepts for Icelandair’s onboard items.

The amenity kits will once again feature the work of Icelandic artist Sara Riel. The bags are made of high-quality Kraft paper, reflecting Icelandair’s commitment to sustainability. The kits will also be available in two different shapes.

Sara Riel, a well-known Icelandic artist and designer, collaborated with Icelandair to create the design inspiration for the amenity kits. The artwork is based on Sara Riel’s “Flóran / The Flora” (2019), a collection of native Icelandic plants and herbs.

The mural itself was developed in partnership with Reykjavík City and a multicultural elementary school. The design of the bag, banderole, sleeping mask, and packaging of the earplugs and toothbrush and toothpaste are all based on Sara Riel’s artwork and adapted to Icelandair’s color code.

The amenity kit includes an Icelandair leaflet, Verso cosmetics (face moisturizer and lip balm), and socks. To maintain a strong connection to the environment, the kit and its contents are made from sustainable materials. The bags are made of 100% sustainable Kraft paper, the toothbrush is made of eco-friendly bamboo, the packaging is made of paper, the socks are produced from recycled polyester, and the sleeping mask is made of recycled TC. The kits are designed to be repurposed and used at home or as a cosmetic pouch for future travels.
