Skysupply partners with CleanHub in a drive for net zero plastic usage. Skysupply, a prominent service partner in the global airline industry, is excited to announce its collaboration with CleanHub, a Berlin-based startup that collects, sorts, and recycles plastic waste from coastal areas and waterways in regions where people lack access to waste management systems.

Skysupply and CleanHub invite visitors to attend a presentation by CleanHub’s VP, Rory Dyer, at the World Travel Catering & Onboard Services EXPO in Hamburg. The presentation will provide more information about CleanHub’s mission and its partnership with Skysupply. The event will occur at Skysupply’s booth #4D30 in hall A4 on May 29, 2024, at 1:15 pm.

Recovery of 17,000 kilograms of plastic waste:  CleanHub is an initiative that helps brands take immediate action to combat one of the world’s biggest environmental issues, the global plastic crisis. CleanHub aims to prevent 50% of new ocean plastic by 2030. It provides conscious brands like Skysupply with an easy way to participate in this mission. By working with CleanHub, Skysupply will prevent 17,000 kg of plastic waste from entering the oceans each year. This is equivalent to saving 1.7 million plastic bottles (0.5 litres).

Taking action on land to protect the oceans: CleanHub’s focus is on dealing with ocean pollution through land-based action. By establishing waste collection hubs in coastal regions where they previously did not exist, they can collect large amounts of plastic and other materials and dispose of them properly. Currently, six waste management hubs operate in Indonesia, India, Tanzania, and Cambodia. The CleanHub founders have developed an app at the centre of the project which documents each collection. Photos are taken at each step, and artificial intelligence is used to meticulously analyse them, checking the collected plastic’s weight, condition, and GPS data. This project is committed to protecting the environment, creating job opportunities, and supporting local communities.
