Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) is excited to announce the introduction of its first-ever signature cocktail, the ‘SWISS Alpine Essence,’ to its onboard beverage selection. This light and floral cocktail is a tribute to the White Negroni and will be available on all long-haul flights starting in July.
The ‘SWISS Alpine Essence’ has been collaboratively developed with award-winning bartender Sarah Madritsch, who has received multiple accolades, including the title of ‘Barkeeper of the Year’ in the Swiss bar scene. Previously, she served as the manager of the renowned IGNIV by Andreas Caminada Bar in Zurich, where she was celebrated for her innovative drink creations. First and Business Class travellers on SWISS long-haul flights will have the exclusive opportunity to enjoy this special cocktail.

SWISS has introduced a new signature cocktail that combines dry white vermouth and elderflower syrup with refreshing crème de menthe, white crème de cacao, and notes of citrus and herbs. The resulting drink is reminiscent of a light and floral White Negroni, making it an excellent choice for both aperitifs and meal pairings.
“We wanted to offer SWISS travellers a genuine taste experience that embodies the lightness and freshness of the Alps, much like the ambience felt outdoors in Switzerland’s natural landscape,” explains Sarah Madritsch, the creator of this unique new cocktail. “I’m proud of the result, and it’s very special to know that our creation will soon be served as the first-ever SWISS cocktail worldwide.”

The ‘SWISS Alpine Essence’ will be available in First and Business Class on SWISS long-haul flights starting in July. First Class travellers can also choose it as their pre-departure welcome drink. Later this year, provisionally in September, the signature cocktail is expected to be included in the ‘SWISS Saveurs’ inflight food and beverage range, allowing Economy Class travellers to enjoy this exclusive creation on short- and medium-haul flights as well.
